We all know them, the fruit loops. A good pastor once said that we've got too many "cereal bowl Christians" walking around our churches...they just stepped out of the bowl and the only question that remains is if their a fruit, a nut, or just a flake.
Jesus talked quite a few times about fruit trees and compared us to them. One of the first things that God ever said to humanity was "be fruitful". In ingrained in us as part of our existence. We all produce fruit, the only question is what kind.
Are you encouraging, helpful, trustworthy, and genuine?
Or is the fruit more along the lines of...unreliable, gossip, complaining, negative and fake?
Good fruit is real, it's genuine and it only comes through time, hard work and consistency. But if we aren't careful we'll get tired of waiting and decide we just want "microwave" or artificial fruit...in other words...froot loops.
The fruit is a result of the root. If you aren't happy with the fruit you see in your own life don't blame the fruit, look at yourself and see where those roots are coming from. The roots are the source, it's hard work digging up roots and planting new ones. It takes time, sweat and hard work. But it's all worth it in the end.
Don't be froot loop.

glo

Robbed!?!?
So I walked in my house last night after work to find our back door kicked in...we'd been robbed! Thank God no-one was home and our dog was safe and sound. They got away with all of our electronics and Jen's jewelry.
It's a strange feeling getting robbed...the word that best fits is "violated". These people came into my house and were in every room, even my daughters...they took over $5k worth of stuff. But after the initial rush of adrenaline and anger I really didn't feel anything but pity. I started to think about what really happened.
All they got was stuff. Just stuff. The only thing that had any value to us that they stole was the video-camera and that's only because it had video's of our daughter on it that we hadn't backed up yet. Stuff is just that...stuff. It's not eternal and it can easily be replaced.
A good pastor once said that the human race is horrible at being human. We truly are. I'm far from perfect, but I had an overwhelming sense of how lost someone must be to go to these extremes to acquire "stuff" or to get money for the stuff they steal. Life isn't about stuff.
We were robbed of stuff, but my family is fine. We all went to sleep at night and woke up healthy this morning. We have more than we could ever ask for. You can't steal happiness. You can't steal love. You can't steal joy. You can't steal real friends. These are some of the things that are of real value in this world.
It's good to remember that from time to time.

Heck, we got home insurance to cover all the "stuff" anyway...right? ;)

The perfect season, almost.
There we are, the KC Life softball team. (minus a couple key players that couldn't make the game)
front row from left to right...
Shalae, Jay, Joanna, Jen, Tiffany
back row left to right...
Nathan, Roy, Marcus, Caleb, John, Greg and Brian.
(Not pictured : Tara, Ralph)
Everyone played their hearts out last night and all the records fell.
No wins? Gone.
Can't score more than 8? We scored 16!
It was a back and forth game, with four lead changes. But in the end, we ended up getting our first win in our last game of the season. The final score was 16 to 11. We yelled and screamed so loud when the ump said the game was over that you would have thought we won the World Series...
It was a great season and we definitely had more fun than any other team in the league. Everyone played awesome and now we've got momentum on our side for the start of next season! ;)
We definitely went out with a bang!
Season over...our record : 1-9 (almost the perfect season)
